Showcasing my art at the Building Bridges Networking Event

I recently, I had the opportunity to showcase my art at Building Bridges: Real Stories, Real Impact, a networking event for the disability sector and focused on lived experience, connection, and meaningful impact.

As a person with disability, this event felt particularly significant. It wasn’t just about exhibiting my art, it was about being in a space where lived experience is valued, respected, and central to the conversation. Sharing my work in a room full of people who understand the realities, challenges, and strengths within the disability community made the experience feel so empowering.

One of the things I love about exhibiting in person is seeing what people are naturally drawn to. Watching someone stop, take a closer look, or tell me what a piece made them feel is something you just don’t get online. It reminded me how powerful art can be as a conversation starter, especially in a sector that’s all about people, stories, and connection.

It was also really lovely meeting people who were seeing my work for the first time. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, shared your own experiences, or bought one of my prints, cards or colour-in designs, your support honestly means more than you might realise.

I’d absolutely love to do more events like this in the future. If you know of any events, workplaces, or community spaces that showcase artists, I’d love to hear about them.
